What the ALX Post Extension Is
The ALX Post Extension is a powder-coated aluminum accessory designed to extend the height of your existing Deckorators ALX aluminum railing posts (specifically 2½″ × 2½″ posts). It bolts onto the top of an installed post to create a taller support that’s great for hanging string lights, bistro lights, vines, or other decorative elements above your deck rail.

- Measures 66″ (5½ ft) long and fits 2½″ × 2½″ ALX posts.
- Extends:
• A 39″ railing post up to about 105″ tall
• A 44″ post up to about 110″ tall - The extension may be cut to any height you want if you don’t need the full length.
Materials & Finish
- Powder-coated aluminum for long-term outdoor rust and corrosion resistance.
- Available in Textured Black to match Deckorators ALX railing finishes.
Included Hardware
- 1 - Coupler insert that fits inside your existing post for secure connection.
- Color-matched screws to fasten the extension securely to the post.
- 1 - Aluminum hardware clip + pad eye and snap link — gives you a place to hang string lights or other items between posts.
