Deckorators Cable Railing Intermediate Spacer

What It Is:

  • This is a 2-pack of “intermediate posts” (also called spacers) for the Deckorators Contemporary Cable Railing system.

  • These are not structural line or end posts — instead, they act as support spacers within a run of cable rail to hold the cables in place and maintain proper spacing / stiffness.

  • They come in three size / height options:

    • 34.5″ (for 36″ rail height)

    • 40.5″ (for 42″ rail height)

    • 46″ (for stair sections)

  • The pack includes:

    • 2 spacers / intermediate posts,

    • 4 connectors,

    • Installation hardware.

  • The holes in the intermediate posts are pre-drilled for 1/8″ cable

  • The hole spacing is 3 – 1/16″ apart.

  • Color / finish options: According to the DeckExpressions listing, they come in Textured Black, Weathered Brown, Textured Bronze, and Textured White.

Why / When to Use Intermediate Posts:

  • Stabilizing Cable Runs: In a long cable railing span, without intermediate support the cables can sag or deflect too much. These posts help “guide” the cables and keep them aligned.
  • Code / Safety Considerations: Many cable-rail building code requirements (or “4-in sphere test” rules) require intermediate supports so that cables don’t droop too much. Using these helps ensure your rail run stays within safe deflection.
  • Aesthetic & Alignment: Intermediate posts keep your cable lines more visually consistent. They help the cables maintain spacing and prevent visual sagging, which makes the railing look tighter and more engineered.

Deckorators cable rail is compatible with many cable rail systems. Cable rail spacers (connectors included) are available in 34.5", 40.5" and 46" (stair spacer).

Warrantor will also, at its sole option, replace or refund the original purchase price for any manufacturing defects in any tempered glass material or aluminum extrusion for your Deckorators ALX Railings used in a decking/railing application. Installations located within one (1) mile of coastal salt water are limited to the first ten years from date of purchase. Warrantor shall have no further liability or obligation except as expressly stated herein. If a claim is made under this Warranty on a product that is no longer available, Warrantor reserves the right to provide a similar product of equivalent quality and value.
