Deckorators Multi angle Railing Connectors used to Mount 2 x 4' Railings to Post
What It Is
The Deckorators Multi-Angle Railing Connector is a special hardware bracket used in wood or composite deck railing systems to join 2″ × 4″ railing boards to posts at angles other than 90° — typically between about 22° and 45°. It replaces simple straight connectors when your railing needs to turn a corner or follow a non-perpendicular run (e.g., part of a multi-facet deck shape).
Key Features
Designed for Angled Rails
- While standard connectors are for 90° (straight) rail-to-post joints, the multi-angle version lets you connect rails at angled horizontal intersections — anywhere roughly 22°–45° from straight.
- Ideal when your deck layout isn’t a perfect square or rectangle and you need clean transitions on angled runs.
Durable, Pre-Drilled Construction
- Made from pre-drilled durable plastic so the connector and rail stay aligned during install.
- Includes color-matched stainless steel screws for secure attachment and corrosion resistance.
- Sold in packs of two (one left and one right bracket) — enough for one rail section.
Easy Installation
- Measure between posts at the rail height you’re installing, cut the rail boards to length, and attach a connector at each end of the rail.
- Use the holes marked for 22–45° on the connector when attaching the rail to get the correct angle alignment (installation guides show which holes to use).
About this product...
Use the multi angle rail connector by Deckorators to create unique angles when designing your deck rails. Creates a gap free and secure bond between rail and post. Works well with nominal 4" x 4".
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Measure the distance between two posts at center-line rail location.
Measure this distance
-
Shorten rails to fit above measurement based on the following angles: 37-degree angle or above – Remove additional 5/8” from rail 27-degree to 36-degree angle – Remove additional 9/16” from rail 26-degree angle or below – Remove additional 1/2” from rail
-
Attach a connector to each end of the rail* using the two 1-1/2” screws provided. *Important: For all angled applications, use holes marked “Rail Angle 22-45”. For 90-degree
applications into 5/4, 1x4, or 2x4, use holes marked “Rail Angle 90 Deg.”
-
Set the rail at the desired height and check for level. Fasten with the provided three 2” screws.
Note: Be sure to use 1-1/2” screws for connector to rail (Step 3) and 2” screws for connector to post (Step 4).
