GenStone Big Stretch Caulking is a specialized caulking/sealant designed for use with GenStone stone veneer panels and accessories. It’s an important part of ensuring the assembly performs well, especially in exterior applications.

Elastic, Flexible Seal
- This caulking is elastic and stretchable, meaning it can flex with natural movement of the structure (from settling, temperature changes, etc.) without cracking. That helps keep the seams tight and watertight over time — something that ordinary caulks may not reliably provide.
Where and How It’s Used
GenStone calls for Big Stretch caulking in several key places during installation:
- Between panel connections — where shiplap edges of panels meet
- At ledgers and trim — where panels meet ledger boards or trim pieces
- Between GenStone products and the substrate — especially around windows, doors, and edges
- At the top row / termination points — helps create a reliable water barrier
About this product...
Most structures are prone to movement which can crack and break most caulking products. GenStone Big Stretch is elastic and engineered to stretch rather than crack like other caulking products. We suggest one tube of Big Stretch caulking for every 100 SQFT of GenStone you install. This caulking is recommended for both exterior and interior projects.

Panels and Corners:
- Apply the caulking along the shiplap edges where the panels and corners connect to one another or to ledgers.
Ledgers:
- Run a bead of caulking in the negative space where the ledgers will connect to panels or corners.
Trim:
- Caulking is applied where the trim will connect to any other piece of the GenStone system and where the trim will terminate into any part of the structure.
Walls:
- Caulking should be applied where any ledger or trim comes in contact with the structure to ensure a weathertight seal between the GenStone and the structure.
