Avalon Cable Gripper Tool by RDI
What It Is
The Avalon Cable Gripper Tool is a small hand tool made for use with RDI Avalon cable railing systems. It’s designed specifically to hold or “grip” a cable securely while you tension or adjust it during installation or later adjustment.
What It Does
Prevents cable twisting or slipping:
- When you tighten cable tension nuts, the cable sometimes wants to spin or twist, which makes adjustment difficult. The gripper tool holds the cable steady so you can turn the nut without the cable rotating.
Useful after initial install:
- Once you’ve installed cable and cut off the swaged (pressed) fitting, the original hex key used during installation is gone—so this tool lets you still make tension adjustments later on.
Sold as a small kit:
- Comes in pairs, so you have two grippers on hand—one for each end of the cable you’re adjusting.
About this product...
If cable tension adjustments are needed after the installation is complete, the cable gripper allows you to do that. The swaged fitting is cut after tightening and the hex key that held it still during install is no longer there to do so. This will be an inexpensive tool that we will offer to keep the cable from twisting as you turn the nut.
