What It Is
Tyvek® StuccoWrap® is a weather-resistive barrier (WRB) engineered specifically for use behind stucco and Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS). It’s made from a high-density polyethylene non-woven material that:
- Resists air and water intrusion into the wall assembly.
- Allows moisture vapor to escape, helping walls dry out.
- Acts as a drainage plane to channel incidental water that gets behind the stucco to the exterior.

Engineered Grooved Surface:
- The surface has specially grooved texture to improve drainage behind stucco finishes (traditional or synthetic) and help reduce cracking in the scratch coat.
Water & Air Barrier Performance:
- Designed as a Type 1 air barrier with high water resistance, it helps reduce air infiltration and manages moisture more reliably than building paper alone.
Durability:
- More tear-resistant and stronger than conventional stucco building paper, with added resistance to mold and mildew and retains strength even when wet.
Breathability:
- Allows water vapor to pass through (high permeability), which promotes drying of the wall system.

Tyvek® StuccoWrap by DuPont is a building wrap specifically designed to provide a drainage plane behind stucco facades and EIFS systems. Tyvek’s lightweight StuccoWrap meets the unique water demands of stucco surfaces. Tyvek®’s StuccoWrap is a durable barrier behind stucco facades, helping to reduce the susceptibility of cracking of the scratch-coat. As our StuccoWrap interacts directly with the stucco used on your build, there are a few ways our wrap works well. Firstly, research shows that Tyvek® StuccoWrap manages hydration and remains stable during curing in comparison to Grade D paper. During the critical early hardening phase, Tyvek® StuccoWrap helps control moisture distribution in the mix, improving the curing process and resulting in stronger stucco. Secondly, Tyvek® will not react with any of the standard ingredients found in traditional stucco mixtures, allowing direct contact with stucco cladding mixtures. Further, Tyvek® StuccoWrap by DuPont has an engineered, grooved surface that uniquely helps improve drainage planes behind stucco facades and EIFS systems. This product also offers vapor permeability as well. Vapor permeability is important because when moisture is present inside a structure, permeability in material allows water vapor to escape, letting wall systems dry, preventing mold and protecting air quality.
