What They Are
Fortress Fe26 Cable Rail Cap Rail Clip (or similar cap rail clips) are hardware accessories designed to attach a wood, vinyl, or composite top rail (“drink rail”) to Fortress vertical cable railing panels. They typically come in packs of 4 and include the necessary screws.
Purpose & Use
- Top Rail Attachment: These clips allow you to secure a decorative or functional top board (e.g., for resting drinks) over the top edge of a Fortress vertical cable panel.
- Compatible Panels: They’re meant for vertical cable railing panels like the Fortress Vertical Cable (V-Series) or similar systems that don’t otherwise have a full top rail built in.
- Installation Spacing: Manufacturers generally recommend placing clips about every 24″ (2 feet) along the rail for secure support.
How They Work
- The clips bolt onto the top edge of the vertical cable panel, and the wood or composite board sits down into the clips. This creates a smooth, finished surface while hiding any panel hardware and giving you a clean, custom look.
