Handrail Adjustable Joiner for RDI vinyl handrail system
What It Is
An adjustable joiner is a connector used in ADA-compliant secondary handrail systems — railing systems typically installed on stairs and ramps as a graspable handrail in addition to the primary guardrail. It lets you join two sections of handrail at variable angles rather than just straight or fixed corners.
Key Features
- Angle Flexibility: You can set the rail connection anywhere between 0° and up to about 90°, so it can follow changes in direction (like turning a corner or transitioning on a ramp) without precise miter cuts in the rail itself.
- Material: Often made from cast or powder-coated aluminum (or aluminum with vinyl cladding depending on the system), giving strength and corrosion resistance for outdoor use.
- Hardware Included: Comes with the necessary stainless-steel or corrosion-resistant fasteners for assembly.
- Designed to integrate with both vinyl-clad and bare aluminum secondary handrail sections in RDI’s ADA handrail product line.
How It’s Used
- Insert the ends of two handrail lineals into each side of the joiner.
- Adjust the angle of the joiner to match the direction change you need (like around a landing).
- Secure with the supplied hardware so the handrail holds firmly in place.
