What It Is
The Bottom Leveler (also called Base Leveler) is an accessory made to work with Bison’s Level.It and Versadjust pedestal systems — modular pedestal supports used for elevated decks, rooftop decking, terraces, terraces with pavers, and other outdoor surfaces.
Key Functionality
- Slope Compensation: It helps level out sloped surfaces when installing pedestal-supported decking. Each unit compensates for about 1/4″ of slope per foot (approx. 2 %).
- Height Adjustment: Adds about 1/4″ (≈6 mm) to the pedestal height when placed underneath the pedestal base.
- You can stack multiple bottom levelers to adjust for greater slopes — using up to four can compensate for roughly 1″ per foot total slope.
How It’s Used
- Installed beneath a pedestal base in a podium/deck system to correct uneven existing surfaces like a slightly sloping rooftop or terrace slab.
- Works with adjustable pedestals like Level.It or Versadjust to fine-tune levelness before placing tiles or pavers.
- It’s especially useful in commercial or rooftop applications where precise leveling is critical for water drainage and stable tile spacing.

A base leveler is placed underneath pedestals to compensate for any possible slopes. Each LD4 base leveler compensates for 14” per foot (2%) slope. A total of four LD4s may be added under pedestals for a maximum of 1” per foot (8%) slope compensation, up to 2 additional below base of V-Series Adjustable Pedestals.
