What the Excalibur Gate Is
RDI Excalibur Gate is a pre-assembled steel gate that integrates with the MetalWorks Excalibur railing line. It’s built to provide both safety and access control within your deck or porch railing — for example, at the top of stairways, entrances to pool areas, or transitions between deck sections.
- Designed for Excalibur steel railing systems — matches the look and finish of Excalibur panels.
- Pre-welded and ready to install — includes the gate frame and infill with a durable finish.
- Matte Black finish — typically the standard finish to match other Excalibur railing components.
- Intended for a 36″ railing height — this gate is sized to align with standard 36″ high Excalibur railing runs.
- 34½″ wide x 34″ tall — fits a 36″ opening when installed with appropriate posts and hardware.
- Hinges and latch hardware are sold separately.
What it DOES NOT include:
- Hinges
- Latching hardware
- Posts and brackets for mounting
How It Fits Into Your Railing System
The Excalibur Gate isn’t a standalone piece; it’s designed to slot into your railing opening and attach to posts (with additional hardware like gate mounting posts, hinges, and latches that you add separately). RDI’s broader Excalibur steel railing line features factory-welded components and hidden attachments designed to make installs easier and seamlessly matched.
You’ll need:
- Posts (e.g., Excalibur posts that match the railing height)
- Hinges and a latch kit compatible with the gate style
- Optional gate end kits for wider custom openings (if your space is not exactly 36″)
About this product...
The Excalibur gate assembly is Pre-welded. Black gate creates a 36" rail height. All iron railing components provide strength, while its' triple-coat finishing process ensures durability. The matte, low-gloss finish hides marring, fingerprints, smudges and other dirt that can otherwise make a gorgeous installation look like it is in desperate need of a spit-shine.
