What These Caps Do
- Finish the look: Post caps create a clean, visually appealing top on stone post wraps and covers — no raw edges showing.
- Protect the post: They help shed water and protect the top of the wrap and underlying post from weathering.
- Matching style: Cast from polyurethane with UV inhibitors and fire retardants, so they resist fading and complement NextStone faux stone wraps seamlessly.
- Optional lighting: Some designs allow for LED strip installation underneath to bring night-time ambience to your deck or outdoor space.
Installation Notes
- Post caps sit on top of the post cover and are typically secured with silicone or polyurethane adhesive; screws can also be used if desired.
- Cap size should match the outside dimensions of the post cover — e.g., 10.5″ caps for 8″ post covers.
- If adding LED lighting, the post cover must have internal space or groove to accommodate light strips beneath the cap.

Made with specially formulated polyurethane and combined with fire retardants and UV inhibitors, the material is durable in extreme or harsh environmental conditions. Along with its durability, Nextstone Faux Stone Post Caps are cast from actual stone and rock patterns, giving your decking the look of actual stone without the cost, time, or commitment required from real stone. Not included are LED lights that can be installed underneath the hood of the cap, so that the lights can cast downwards on your posts.
