What Is Tyvek FlexWrap
- Construction: It has a micro-creped Tyvek® top sheet + a 100% butyl adhesive + a split-release liner.
- Flexibility / Stretch: Designed to be very “extendable” — per the datasheet, it can stretch a lot (e.g., the French spec sheet says ~160% elongation) to conform to curved or irregular surfaces.
- Thickness: About 1.6 mm according to DuPont.
- Temperature Range: From about –30 °C to +80 °C (with short-term exposure up to 100 °C).
- UV Exposure: Rated to withstand up to 4 months (depending on version) of UV exposure prior to being covered by siding or cladding.
- Code / Spec Compliance: Complies with AAMA 711 (self-adhered flashing spec) per DuPont.

Application / Use Cases:
- Flashing around windows & doors (especially corners)
- For arch-top or rounded windows, since FlexWrap is conformable / stretchable
- Wall penetrations (vents, pipes, etc.) where you need air- and water-tight sealing.
Installation Tips:
- Surface must be clean, dry, and free of frost or ice for effective adhesion.
- Because of its stretch and flexibility, it’s good for non-linear shapes without cutting many pieces.
- After applying, you should press it (roll / hand) to ensure good contact.
- Durability: Very good — the butyl adhesive doesn’t contain asphalt/bitumen, so it avoids issues related to staining or oozing which some cheaper flashings have.
- Compatibility: Works well with DuPont Tyvek WRB (weather resistive barrier) and other building-envelope products.
