What It Is
Narrow Board SIDELoc Tool for Azek (sometimes called the SlideLoc 3-1/2″ Narrow Board Installation Gun) is a specialized hidden fastener installation tool designed exclusively for TimberTech® AZEK® square-shoulder PVC decking in narrow 3-1/2″ widths. It’s part of AZEK’s SIDELoc hidden fastening system which provides a clean, fastener-free deck surface by driving screws into the edge of the boards instead of the top.
Think of it as a clamping guide / driver tool that helps you quickly and accurately install SIDELoc screws into narrow Azek boards at the correct angle and spacing.
How It Works
- Hidden fastening: The tool guides SIDELoc fasteners through the side of the AZEK board into the deck joist, so there are no visible screws on the deck surface — a sleek, barefoot-friendly finish.
- Designed for narrow boards: Specifically sized for 3-1/2″ (89 mm) narrow boards — common in AZEK’s multi-width decking collections.
- Clamping action: The tool clamps onto the board edge and holds it securely while you drive screws down both sides in one placement (dual screw guides).
- Automatic spacing: It creates a uniform ~1/8″ gap between boards — the recommended spacing for AZEK decking — without separate spacers.
- No pre-drilling: Designed for AZEK PVC, the system usually doesn’t require pre-drilling before driving the SIDELoc screws.
In use, you place the tool over the board’s edge aligned with the joist, squeeze the handle (if applicable) so it grips the board, insert a SIDELoc screw into each guide, and drive them into the joist at the proper angle. Then repeat for each joist as you work along the board.
